We live in a world of numbers. Most we understand, others we don’t, like those three numbers on plant fertilizer. They will tell you everything you need to know but only if you can break the secret code.
First, they represent nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium in that order and how much of each is in there. Second, remember up, down and all around. Nitrogen, number one, goes up for a healthy green. Phosphorous, number two, goes down to the roots and potassium, number three, promotes all around good health. Ask your local nurseryman which combination is right for your plants and specific gardening problem.
